Ganther sets the pace in Wichita
Wichita, KS-It was a record-setting afternoon for the Broncbuster women.
Kolby Ganther broker her own school record in the 60-meter dash, running a blazing 7.79 seconds while setting the record in the 200 meters with a time of 25.23 at the Wichita State Invite.
"We had a great meet," Head Coach Doug Marshall said.
Ganther finished fourth in the 200 meter finals, placing behind two Division I schools and Emporia State. Hazel Sanders and Deja Gadison came in 14th and 15th.
Other highlights: Lordes Covarrubias placed ninth in the 1000 meters, Hannah Roemer was ninth in the 3000 with a time of 12:02.99, and Kaylee Line and Jene't Campbell fell just short of qualifying for nations in the high jump; both finishing with leaps of five feet, 2.25 inches. Freshman Morgan Henderson won the long jump competition with a jump of 17 feet, two inches; Chimsly Pericles was fifth while also coming in fifth in the triple jump.
Garden City is back in action on Saturday at the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg.
