Buster Cowgirls Finish 2nd at Pratt
Celie Vick All Around Cowgirl at Pratt Rodeo
The Rodeo Team competed at the Pratt Community College Rodeo this past weekend where the Womens team finished in 2nd place for the second Rodeo in a row behind Northwestern Oklahoma State University. There was only a 5 point difference between the two teams.
Celie Vick led the charge for the Broncbusters in winning the All Around Cowgirl Title by finishing in 5th place in the Goat Tying, and winning 2nd place in the overall average in the Barrel Racing.
Peyton Mentzer contributed by winning the Long go round of the Breakaway roping. Unfortunately she didn't get her calf caught in the short go, but was still able to finish 6th in the Average.
Michaela Peterson finished 5th in the long go of Breakaway roping, but was unable to get her calf caught as well in the short go therefore finishing 8th in the Average. On a side note, Michaela injured her ankle preparing for the goat tying event on Friday night in Pratt. She went ahead and competed, but will likely have to sit out of the Goat Tying at the next Rodeo this weekend.
On the Mens side, Talon Shipman was our only representative in the short go by winning 9th in the long go of team roping with his partner Maverick Harper of NWOSU. They were unable to get their steer caught in the short go and finished 9th in the average.
We will be in action again next weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma State University Rodeo. For complete results and standings go to www.collegerodeo.com
