Broncbuster men take 8th at annual Garden City College Rodeo
Garden City, KS-The Broncbuster men's team finished in 8th place over the weekend, and the women's team failed to get anyone into the Short Go and score any points.
Bob Walter led the men's team by Winning 4th in the Long Go of Bareback Riding with a 70 point ride, then he scored 72 points in the Short Go to win 6th , and Finished in a tie for 5/6th .
"Bob has had to overcome some serious injuries this year," Head Coach, Jim Boy Hash said. "He unfortunately hit the ground hard his first day of practice last fall, and broke his collarbone, so to ride as well as he did this weekend should do amazing things for his confidence to finish out the year."
Jaylyn Hash and his partner Kade Harland from Pratt CC Won 4th in the Long Go of Team Roping with an 8 second run, Jaylyn barely slipped a leg on the healing end in the Short Go which cost them a few points, but they still Won 6th in that round, and Finished 6th in the Average.
Cutter Nichols broke the ice this weekend in the Saddle Bronc riding by scoring 52 points in the Long Go to finish in the 11thspot. He covered his horse in the Short Go, but unfortunately took a zero score for "missing the Horse out", therefore finishing in 11th place in the Average.
Cutter has also overcome several injuries including Breaking his Back a few years ago. So his confidence should skyrocket now as well.
