Garden City qualifies one for Nationals in Lubbock

Lubbock, TX-Freshman Jacquez Jones locked up his spot at Nationals in his first indoor meet of the season at the Corky Classic at Texas Tech University.

Jones finished 19^th in the 600-meters on Friday, clocking a time of 1:21.39. He is ranked seven in the nation and second in the Jayhawk Conference.

Meantime, freshman Gerald Brown began his career in style, setting a personal-best of 22.6 seconds in the 200-meter dash; good for 11^th place. Marvin Gatlin was right behind his teammate in 16^th (22.75 seconds), and Isaiah Harvey finished 19^th (22.86 seconds).

Sophomore, Jae Sutherland, ran two personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles and the 400-meter dash.

The Broncbusters return to action on Friday, Jan. 23 at the Jayhawk Classic.
