Building for the future; Rogers breaks school record at nationals
Pittsburg, KS-The injury bug hit Garden City at arguably the worst time.
Both James Liburd and Quincy Watts tweaked hamstrings in their respective preliminaries at the 2017 indoor national track meet at Pittsburg State University. However, Denim Rogers did score for the Broncbusters, breaking the school record in the heptathlon, finishing second in the 60-meter dash; fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, fifth in the high jump, ninth in the long jump, 14th in the shot put and 14th in the pole vault.
Other results: Garden City's 4x800 team of of Eduardo Ortiz, Rodney Henry, Frank Bearden and Oscar Guzman placed ninth with a time of 8:05.41.
As a team, the Broncbusters placed ninth.
