Broncbuster men make their presence felt at the Herm Wilson Invite
Wichita, KS-Another weekend, and the list of Garden City national qualifiers got longer.
The Broncbuster men's team sent four to Nationals including James Liburd, Quincy Watts, Rodney Henry and Denim Rogers following Friday's Herm Wilson Junior College Invitational.
Liburd raced his way to a first-place finish in the 600 meters with a time of 1:24.83. Watts time of 8.32 vaulted him to the top spot in the 60-meter hurdles before taking second place in the long jump. Henry's placed second in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:40.56 and Rogers, who is ranked fifth in the NJCAA in the heptathlon.
Other finishers: Jonathan Challenger placed fourth in the 60 meters at 7.04 and second in the 200 meters; Eduardo Ortiz was seventh in the 800 meters with a 2:05.99; Oscar Guzman placed sixth in the men's mile while the 4x400-relay team of Ricardo Colas, Anthony Dawson, Lucas Santos and Ahkeil Bowes-Savage finished fourth.
