Broncbusters add rising star to men's soccer program
Garden City, KS-The Garden City men adding more depth to their 2019 roster.
Leonardo Wendenhausen, a 5-11 attacking center midfielder from Florianopolis, Brazil signed a national latter of intent with the Broncbuster men's soccer program. He will join the team for the 2019 campaign.
"Leo is a very talented, smart, creative and aggressive box-to-box playmaker," Westbrook said. "He is the engine we are looking for. I liked Leo from the first time I saw his video. I truly believe he can be another special player for this rising program."
Born in the United States, Wendenhausen moved to Brazil when he was 2. Since then, he mastered his craft by playing internationally.
"Leo is a very experienced player," Westbrook added. "Soccer has taken him to Spain, Portugal, throughout Brazil, and the United States, among other countries. And we will need that experience as we plan on Leo replacing Remi Emeriau, who recently signed with NCAA-II powerhouse Midwestern State University."
As for the how this recruiting class is shaping up for Westbrook:
"Leo was our first signee of the year," he said. "Recruiting is a long process, but we have definitely hit the ground running by adding such a high-caliber player."
