Broncbuster men land at No. 24 in the latest NJCAA poll
Garden City, KS-The Broncbuster men's basketball team is ranked 24th in the latest NJCAA poll that was released on Monday.
It's the first time since Nov. 14 that Garden City has landed in the rankings, coming in as high No. 22 following a 4-0 start.
"We just want to be playing our best basketball now," said freshman Buru Naivalurua, who has posted 14 double-doubles this season. "We have really turned a corner since coming back from break."
The Broncbusters are one of three Jayhawk Conference teams to be ranked. Coffeyville is 15th at 21-5 and Dodge City is 13th.
"I really like where we are right now," Head Coach, Rusty Elmore said. "You can slowly see things coming together."
The Broncbusters are coming off their two most impressive victories of the season: an 84-52 beatdown of Seward and a 75-52 blowout of Northwest Tech. They have won seven out of their last 10 games and currently sit in fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference standings. They travel to Cowley on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
