Great moments in Broncbuster Athletics: 2000 Jayhawk Conference Championship Game

In what many consider the greatest Junior College football game ever, the Broncbusters took down the two-time defending National-Champion Butler Grizzlies in four overtimes in the 2000 Jayhawk Conference Title Game at Memorial Stadium. The Grizzlies had the game won not once, but twice at the end of regulation. Kedric Session picked off Corey Jenkins, only to have the ball knocked out of his hands and Shawn Steiner recovered for the Broncbusters. Then, Berin Lacevic missed a 51-yard field goal at the horn. But the Grizzlies were called for too many men on the field. Moments later, Lacevic drilled a 35-yarder to send the game to overtime. Four extra periods later, Jenkins hit Adam Coulter for the eventual game-winning, 25-yard touchdown pass. The victory sent Garden City into the National Championship Game.
