Bio

Colby Deaville was named the assistant baseball coach for the 2022-2023 season.

Deaville comes to Garden City after graduating from the University of Louisiana - Monroe with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Prior to his attendance at ULM, he earned his associate degree at Butler CC in General Studies.

Deaville’s collegiate playing career began at Butler, where he was the starting shortstop both years. In his sophomore year, he helped the team earn a 39-19 (.672) record and helped spark the offense. The team posted #13 in the nation in home runs, #16 in the nation with stolen bases, and top 50 in the nation in all other statistical categories.

After his tenure at Butler, Deaville went to ULM where he was the starting shortstop all three years. The team was set for a breakout season going 12-2 before dropping the final three games before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid the stoppage, ULM led the Sun Belt Conference in batting average (.311, 15th NCAA DI), on base percentage (.433, 4th DI), runs scored (155, 7th DI), scoring (9.1, 5th DI), stolen bases (36, 10th DI), base on balls (105, 4th DI) and triples (6).
