Hutch 6th Inning Overcomes Buster 7-3 Lead
Hutchinson, KS-Garden City's 7-6 lead in the 6th inning was ended with a Cade Doga Grand Slam. Garden City took a 7-3 lead into the 6th but Hutchinson was able to chip away at the lead with three straight RBI singles. Doga's grand slam gave the Blue Dragons a 10-7 lead.
Garden City got on the board in the top of the first with Mason Brown's RBI single; his 51st of the year. The Blue Dragons answered in the bottom half of the home inning with a pair of singles by Shane Cooper and Michael Helman. Doga's 1 out double gave Hutchinson a 2-1 lead.
Garden City bounced back in the third inning with a solo home run blast from Alex Nielson to tie the game at two; Nielsons 6th home run of the year. Garden City picked up two more runs in the third inning. With bases loaded Mason Brown was hit by pitch and a Conner Reynolds' RBI single gave the Busters a 4-2 lead.
Brooks Benson answered in the fourth inning with an RBI single. Garden City led 5-2.
Hutchinson's Bobby Malacki added a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth pulling the Blue Dragons within 2 trailing 5-3.
In the sixth inning the Busters added a pair of insurance runs. A pair of RBI singles by Mason Brown and Jesse Gonzales gave Garden City a 7-3 edge.
The Blue Dragons went to work in the home half of the sixth with a Bobby Milacki RBI single and a passed ball pulling Hutchinson within two. Mack Gowans RBI single then pulled Hutchinson within one. Caden Doga's grand slam would end the scoring for Hutchinson; they led 10-7.
Buster Left Fielder Sean Kennedy made a run at Hutchinson in the seventh with a solo shot over the right center wall. Kennedy's blast ended the Buster scoring as they dropped Game III 10-8.
