Great Bend, KS-Another match and another close loss for Garden City.
The Broncbusters fell, 2-1 to Barton Saturday afternoon, dropping to 3-6-1 overall and 0-6-1 in conference play.
Garden City surrendered a pair of goals in the first 30 minutes. Beatriz Baldi beat Leydaly Enriquez, and Katie Potter deposited Orlane Guillou's assist into the back of the net in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0.
The Broncbusters though got on the board late in the opening period. Jessica Newton's corner kick resulted in Emma Casenave's third goal of the season to bring Garden City to within one at the intermission.
It was all about missed opportunities after that.
Ariel Martinez missed a shot on goal wide left in the 75th minute, and the Broncbusters failed to capitalize on a corner kick in the 84th.
Barton, which improved to 4-3-2 overall and 2-3-2 in the Jayhawk, outshot the Broncbusters, 14-6. Enriquez had three saves.
