Broncbuster rodeo competes at Southeastern Oklahoma State
Durant, OK-Garden City competed at the SEOSU Rodeo this weekend.
The men's team finished in 14th place, and the Women's Team took 6th place behind five University teams.
Jezimay Watson split 8/9/10th in the Long Go of Breakaway Roping with a 2.9-second run, then roped her Short Go calf in 4.3 seconds to win 4th in the Go, and finish 4th in the Average.
"The Breakaway Roping in the Central Plains Region is so competitive with so many girls competing (167 girls at Durant) that placing well at three rodeos will generally get a contestant qualified for the CNFR," Head Coach, Jim Boy Hash said.
Ally Brennaman, and Marlee Quarels deserve some recognition as well since they roped their Long Go calves in 3.1, and 3.2 respectively, which narrowly left them out of the Short Go since 3.0 was the last hole to come back.
Brady Irvine Won 4th in the Saddle Bronc Riding Long Go with a 68-point score. He unfortunately grabbed down in the Short Go, and took a zero, but he still ended up 5th in the Average due to some pretty strong bucking horses.
