Broncbusters compete at Terry Masterson Invite
Hutchinson, KS-Freshman Lawson Beymer finished seventh, and the Broncbuster men took fourth overall at the annual Terry Materson Twilight Classic on Friday.
Beymer, the freshman from Lakin, KS, posted a time of 20:50.7, posting a top-10 finish in a field with more than 130 runners. Lucas Goasmat came in 18th (21:30.4) while Don Kasigwa ran a time of 22:11.9, good for a 30th-place finish. Teammate Marc Corpus took 37th (22:33.1), Andrew Dorris came in 63rd (23:51.8), and Leo Shelden finished 93rd with a time of 25:41.2.
Garden City had the second-best team score of any Junior College behind Northwest Kansas Tech. Fort Hays State finished first.
Women
Sara Chapa was the top finisher for the Broncbuster women, coming in 44th with a new personal best of 22:04.8. Maya White Eagle, who made her cross-country debut on Friday, finished 65th (23:11.4). Joscelyn Monarrez took 73rdin her collegiate debut (23.56.3), and Jada Cooper was 80th with a time of 25:06.1.
