Track and Field teams open outdoor season down in Canyon, Texas at West Texas A&M
Garden City Broncbusters Track and Field open their outdoor season down in Canyon, Texas at West Texas A&M for the West Texas Relays.
Men's Recap:
Daniel Aboagye makes his collegiate debut in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:01.46 placing 3rd.
Michael Brown runs a 11.64 and a 23.59 in his collegiate debut in the 100 and 200 meters.
Nicolo Caccamo makes his outdoor collegiate debut in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.89 placing 7th and in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.98 placing 5th.
Marc Corpus sets a new personal best in the 1500 meter with a time of 4:25.98.
Julain Francis jumps a new personal best in the long jump with a mark of 6.97 meters, placing 6th.
Lucas Goasmat runs his personal best in the 1500 meter at 4:00.83, placing 2nd.
Dammian Hightower makes his collegiate debut in the discus hitting a lifetime personal best of 35.07 meters and in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.95 meters. He also set a new personal record in the shot put with a toss of 12.81 meters, placing 8th.
Travis Hollins places 8th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.90 as his collegiate debut. Hollins also placed 9th in the long jump with a mark of 6.69.
Eyona Mangumta places 4th in the discus throw with a mark of 46.05 meters in his collegiate debut.
Joshua Martinez makes his collegiate debut in the triple jump at 11.06 meters placing 9th.
Myron Miller makes his collegiate debut in the 100 meter with a time of 11.15 and a new personal record in the 200 meter with a time of 22.39.
Kyle Moore made his collegiate debut in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:44.59.
Rhet Punt sets two new school records in his outdoor season opening. Punt placed 3rd in the discus throw with a new personal best of 46.47 meters. He also qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the Hammer Throw with a personal best 56.95 meters, placing 3rd.
Ivan Rivas jumps a new personal best in the long jump at 5.41 meters.
Carson Schmdit makes his collegiate debut in the 1500 meters at 4:31.48.
Leo Shelden runs a new personal best in the 1500 with a time of 4:39.87.
Izzacc Simon makes his collegiate debut in the 100 meter at 11.15 and in the 200 meter at 22.44.
The 4x100 relay placed 6th with a time of 43.68 as the season opener. The team consists of Julian Francis, Michael Brown, Myron Miller, Izzacc Simon.
Women's Recap:
Meeca Castillo places 8th in the long jump with a mark of 4.51 meters.
Tomi Gall sets a new personal best with a 4.51 meter improvement placing 9th with a mark of 41.86 meters.
Reid Harvey-McKean makes her collegiate debut in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:08.16, placing 8th.
Jaylene Hernandez runs a 14.05 in the 100 meters and a 30.06 in the 200 meters in her collegiate debut.
Beverlyne Kiptarus runs a new personal record of 5:10.65 in the 1500 meters placing 9th.
Joscelyn Monarrez sets a new personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:57.72.
Antonicia Moultrie places 4th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.02.
Mekhila Sanders runs a new personal record of 24.09 in the 200 meters, qualifying her for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships placing 5th. Sanders places 5th in the 400 meter with a time of 57.64 also placing 5th. Those times break the previous school records in both.
Taia Velasco opens her season with a triple personal best in the discus at 34.81 meters, placing 7th, hammer throw of 36.35 meters, and the shot put of 9.91 meters.
Jenna Wilson makes her collegiate debut in the hammer throw with a mark of 26.87 meters and in the discus with a mark of 25.20 meters.
Broncbuster track and field will be competing at home on 3/28/2025 at the Broncbuster Invite.
