
Broncbusters set new personal bests at Corkey Classic
Lubbock, TX-The Broncbuster track teams set new personal bests at the Corkey Classic.
Women:
-Freshman Beatriz Ferriera hit a national qualifying mark in her college debut. She placed 15th in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.71 meters (41'8.5").
-Sophomore Taylor Thorp continues to see improvement as she set new personal best in the 1000-meter run (3:42.97) as well as in the Mile (6:28.60).
-Sophomore Andrea Serrano set a huge personal best in the 1000-meter run, clocking in a 3:59.87.
-Freshman Kanya Campbell had a solid weekend, running personal best in the 60-meter dash (8.98) and 200-meter dash 29.77.
-Megan Burkhart set a new personal best in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in a time of 12.52.
Men's Recap:
-Johnny Harris was the top sprinter for the Broncbusters, as he set personal best marks in the 200-meter dash (23.23) and 400-meter dash (52.44). Teammate Jamie Miller was close behind, clocking in personal best marks in the 200 (23.61) and the 400 (53.78). Zane Burns put together a Personal best in the 400-meter dash, clocking in 55.83.
-Adama Faye had a solid debut, clocking in a 23.74 in the 200-meter dash as well as running the top 60-meter dash time of the Broncbusters today, running 7.20. Teammate Jacob Romero ran a new personal best in the 60-meter dash, clocking in a 7.25.
-Jordan Myles (23.82), Quinjerus Miles (23.89), Chauncey Ramirez (25.25), and Edwin Rodriquez (25.55) all set personal best in the 200-meter dash.
-Lamar Oubre set a new personal best in the 600-yard run, running a time of 1:21.18.
