Big inning costs Garden City in game three vs. Butler
El Dorado, KS-The Big inning did Garden City in again.
Alex Coester drove in four runs, Maddux Schrupp picked up his second win of the season in relief, and Butler outlasted the Broncbusters, 11-4 at McDonalds Stadium.
Garden City (8-9, 1-2) starter Sean Togher gave up four earned runs on six hits in three innings. The bullpen combination of Nathaniel Danielson and Adam Cook then gave up six runs in three innings.
The Grizzlies broke open a two-run game in the sixth. After Cook replaced Danielson, he intentionally walked Cooper Rasmussen to load the bases. But that backfired after he issued a free pass to Brandt Beeby. Two batters later, Jaden Rose slapped a sharp single to left to score one, Kaleb Nye followed with a walk, Amarion Sailer added an infield hit, and Brady Todd looped a base hit to right, capping off a five-run inning that put the game out of reach.
After taking a 1-0 lead following Togher's two-out RBI double in the first, Butler answered with four runs in the bottom of the second. They added another in both the third and fourth.
