
Broncbusters drop game two vs. Eastern Oklahoma
Wilburton, OK-Eastern Oklahoma State figured out Taylor Dooley: get to him early.
Ruben Venter homered, John Seikich drove in three runs, and the Mountaineers rocked Garden City's ace to the tune of eight runs as Eastern Oklahoma State won game two of the three-game set, 11-4 Saturday afternoon.
Dooley lasted only 3 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits in his most uneven performance of the season for the Broncbusters, which fell to 2-14 overall. Brittain Brewer finished with two hits, and Nick Barber smashed his first homer of the year.
The Mountaineers jumped on the Broncbuster's top starter with a pair of runs in the first and two more in the third including Augusto Schroeder's RBI double that made it 4-0.
After Brewer's two-run double got the Broncbusters on the board in the fourth, Eastern Oklahoma State put the game away with a four-run bottom half. Then, Venter crushed a three-run homer in the sixth that gave the home team a seven-run cushion.
Kamden Thompson improved to 3-2 on the bump for the Mountaineers, allowing three earned runs on nine hits in six innings. He struck out six.
