Garden City, KS-Chris Finnegan's team salvaged their weekend set with Southeast.
Joey Bonfiglio and Sage McMinn each homered, Connor Camden collected four hits, and Garden City run ruled the Storm, 15-5 in Saturday's series finale. With the win, the Broncbusters improved to 3-8 overall.
Garden City native Peyton Walters, earned his first victory of the season on the bump, allowing four earned runs on five hits in four innings while striking out six.
The Broncbusters gave Walters plenty of room for error, spotting the freshman a three-run lead. Then, after Southeast scored three in the third to tie it, Garden City answered with three of their own in the bottom half, which included Camden's run-scoring single that made it 6-3.
Once the Storm made it a one-run game with two more in the fourth, the brown and gold put the game away in their half. Dylan Garcia and Geoff Marlow both reached before McMinn sent a line-drive shot over the fence in left for a three-run bomb. Ryan Muniz followed with a two-run double, Dylan Garcia added an RBI extra base hit, and McMinn capped off the eight-run fourth with a double to the gap in left that plated one. An inning later, Bonfiglio ended the game with a solo blast off Davis Gatling.
Seth Claybourne took the loss for Southeast, allowing three runs on two hits in a single inning of work.
