Jackson named Jayhawk Player of the Week
By Mike Pilosof
Garden City, KS-The Broncbuster volleyball team is starting to build some momentum. And a big reason for that is the play of sophomore Libero, Alexandra Jackson.
On Tuesday, Jackson was named the Jayhawk defensive player of the week.
The sophomore, who holds the Enid High School record for most digs in a season, has spearheaded a second-half resurgence for the Broncbusters, who, after 10 straight losses to start the season, have suddenly won four out of their last six matches.
Last week, Jackson was fantastic. She averaged just over four digs per set, tallying a season-high 24 in a come-from-behind victory over Pratt. She had 10 in a sweep of Dodge City on Monday and sprinkled in 13 more vs. Colby on Saturday.
Garden City is back home on Wednesday night vs. Barton. Match time is at 6:30 p.m.
