Broncbusters close regular season by sweeping Colby
Garden City, KS-One thing is for certain: there are not a lot of teams that want to play Garden City in the opening round of the conference tournament. Their recent surge proved that.
The Broncbusters improved to 6-3 in October with a straight set 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 victory over Colby on Friday at Conestoga Arena. The win locked Garden City into the six-seed in the postseason beginning on Wednesday.
"We've been more consistent as of late," Matula said. "That's been the difference in our play."
Shaney Tiamulu recorded eight kills, and Maddie Park had 21 assists. Bailey Martinez added 27 digs.
Garden City will face Butler on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The winner of that match will face the Hutchinson/Dodge City winner, Sunday in Liberal.
