Burnett sets new mark; Garden City stands out at Corky Classic

Lubbock, TX-Lillie Burnett set a new, lifetime best in the 200 meters at the Corky Classic at Texas Tech University.
The sophomore placed seventh on Friday, clocking a blazing fast 25.86, finishing less than a second off the winner, Demisha Roswell from New Mexico. She also ran a career best in the 60-meter dash on Saturday (7.94 seconds) and finished 30th while coming in at 1:00.9 in the 400-meter dash. She is currently ranked ninth in the NJCAA.
Sophomore, Sheridan Rodriguez took home 11th place in the high jump, leaping 1.60 meters. She's tied for third in the NJCAA and second in the Jayhawk Conference.
The Broncbusters return to action on Friday, Jan. 23 at the Jayhawk Classic.
