Gatluak leaps her way to title at Jim Duncan

Des Moines, IA-The Garden City women's track team competed at the 2017 Jim Duncan Invitational at Drake University.

Nya Gatluak continued her strong season, taking first in the long jump (4.94 meters) and second in the triple jump. Ilishia Tarver took third in the long jump (4.79 meters) while Kolby Ganther and Deja Gadison placed third and fifth in the 100 meters. Gadison also took eighth in the 200 meters while her teammates Deidre Smith and Madelyn Fluker came in 10^th and 13^th respectively. Fluker took ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.31; Lordes Covarrubias was 14^th in the 800 meters (2:28.09) and Kristian Ruiz took sixth in the 100 meter hurdles.
