Ganther leads Broncbuster women at Gorilla Classic
Pittsburg, KS-In high school, Kolby Ganther was considered one of the best spriners in the state.
During her senior season at Wichita Heights, Ganther finished fourth in the 100 meters at the state track meet, notching a time of 12.72 seconds. Her junior year, she was part of the 4x100 squad that captured gold for a second consecutive season in Wichita.
During her freshman season at Garden City, the former Falcon is racing her way into the record books, literally.
Ganther shattered the school mark and qualified for nationals with an 11th-place finish in the 60-meter-dash at the 2017 Goirilla Classic, recording a time of 7.81 seconds. She also finished 36th in the 200-meter dash.
Teammate Marisa Puente was 54th in the 200 with a time of 26.28 seconds. Madelynn Fluker came in 27th in the 400-meter dash and Nyabuony Gatluak placed 12th in the triple jump.
The women are also ranked 31st in the nation according to U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country.
