Dallas, TX-Samantha Medina scored and added an assist as Garden City won its second straight match, beating Dallas College Cedar Valley, 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Broncbusters improved to 4-1-1 overall.
After Cedar Valley put the ball in their own net six minutes into this one, the home team tied it with a goal in the 11th minute. But the Broncbusters responded quickly after that. Noelie Pratt fired a line drive past the keeper from 25 yards out to give Garden City the lead in the 16th minute.
Leading 2-1 early in the second half, Medina played a ball in across the box for Kasandra Jimenez who finished with a tap in to give the Broncbusters a two-goal cushion. Garden City then padded the lead in the 82nd minute off Hannah Duncan's free kick where the sophomore looped a ball into the box that Medina rolled past keeper Lawson McConnell.
Garden City was on the attack all afternoon long, outshooting Cedar Valley, 20-5. Karime Silva recorded two saves.
