Price and Bennett highlight Garden City Rodeo

Garden City, KS-The Broncbuster men finished ninth while the women placed fifth at the 52nd annual Garden City Community College Rodeo.
Ean Price, who paired with Taylor Munsell from Northwestern Oklahoma State, posted a time of 7.5 seconds in team roping on Friday, which qualified them for the short-go. They ended up with a 6-second time on Saturday, and finished fourth in the average.
Fort Scott finished first as a team, followed by Colby, Panhandle State and Southeastern Oklahoma State. Southeastern's Will John Martin won the men's all-around, Fort Scott's Trenton Burd was the champ in saddle bronc riding, Jade Taton from Panhandle State took first in bareback riding, Fort Scott's Hunter Ball was tops in bull riding, Colton Kofoed from Western Oklahoma State finished first in tie-down roping, and Northwestern Oklahoma State's Bradley Ralph was No. 1 in steer wrestling.
The Broncbusters did experience a big scare. Bull rider Luke Sullivan broke his arm when his bull landed on him during his initial ride. He entered the weekend in sixth place in the Central Plains Region standings.
On the women's side, Kylee Bennett tied for second in goat tying, posting a time of 6.8 seconds on the long-go and 6.4 in the short.
Oklahoma State won the team title with 395 points, followed by Kansas State, Panhandle State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. McKenna Hayes McNeil from Oklahoma State won the all-around competition. She was first in barrel racing. Kansas State's Kassidi Hoffman was tops in breakaway roping, and Kaylee Smith from Panhandle State won the goat-tying competition.
Garden City is back in action this week as they head to Weatherford, OK for the Southwestern Oklahoma State Rodeo beginning on Thursday.
