Broncbusters with strong showing at Jayhawk Classic

Lawrence, KS-Jacquez Jones had another fantastic day at the Jayhawk Classic at the University of Kansas.
The freshman dropped five seconds off of his previous national qualifying mark in the 600, clocking a time of 1:17.78-good for ninth place. He's currently ranked fourth in the nation and third in the Jayhawk Conference.
3A Louisiana state champion hurdler, Ja'Vondre Edwards, sprinted a lifetime best 8.46 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. He was just .04 seconds shy of the national qualifying mark.
Gerald Brown came in eighth in the 400-meter dash, finishing at 51.76 seconds. His teammate, Marvin Gatlin was ninth at 51.97, Samuel Gitau was 10th in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:23.857, and the 4x400 team of Brown, Gatlin, Jones and Jae Sutherland, finished 11th.
Garden City is back in action on Friday at the Texas Tech Open.
