Rogers falls just shy of decathlon title at Region VI meet
Arkansas City, KS-The Garden City men's track team finished seventh for the second straight year at the 2017 Region VI Outdoor Championships at Cowley Community College.
Denim Rogers paced the Broncbusters attack by finishing second in the decathlon with 6221 points. James Liburd was second in the 400 meters and eighth in the 200 while the 4x100 team took third and the 4x400 squad was eighth.
Other finishers: Lucas Santos took 24th in the 400 meters with a 51.38; Oscar Guzman's 2:01.23 was good for 15th in the 800 meters; Eduardo Ortiz took home 15th in the 1500 meters while Ricardo Colas raced his way to a seventh place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.48.
