Garden City men gain ground at Region VI meet
Pittsburg, KS-The Broncbuster men's track team finished seventh at the 2017 Region VI Indoor Championships at Pittsburg State University.
Rodney Henry finished fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.78. He was also part of the 4x400 relay team that placed fifth out of 13 teams. James Liburd, Jonathan Challenger and Anthony Dawson recorded a time of 3:20.20.
Liburd sprinted his way to a second-place finish in the 400 meters, losing out to top-ranked Quintaveon Poole from Butler. Quincy Watts got third in both the long jump and the 60-meter hurdles, and Jonathan Challenger placed sixth in the 200 meters at 21.64.
Other results: freshman Anthony Dawson placed 16th in the 400 meters, Ricardo Colas, Janoy Dean and Timothy Dawson finished 15th, 16th and 17th respectively in the 600 meters. Frank Bearden was 10th in the 800 meters-recording a time of 1:59.88 while Eduardo Ortiz placed ninth in the 1000 meters (2:42.67)
