Broncuster golf competes at NJCAA Preview
Lubbock, TX-The Broncbuster men's golf team finished 15th at the 2017 NJCAA fall preview at Texas Tech University on Tuesday.
Garden City shot a first round 311 followed by a 316 and 305 for a tournament score of 932, which was good for 17-over par.
"We are working on conquering youth and inexperience at this level," Head Coach John Green said.
George Avgousti paced the Broncbusters, finishing tied for 65th at 14-over par. He shot 74 in the first round, 79 in the second and 77 in the third.
"The schedule that we play is one of the toughest against fully-funded programs," Green added. "I like the challenge, and it's good for our guys."
Evan McBride was just two strokes back of his teammate. He was 69th at 16-over followed by Bryce Wharton, who fired a 233, and returner Jordan Parsons, who strung rounds of 79m 78 and 80 together to finish 75th.
McLennan won the team title while Indian Hills came in second. Indian Hills' Julien Sale shot a tournament-best 9-under to capture the individual crown.
