Robinson named First-Team All-American
Garden City, KS-In a season full of high-level achievements, Brody Robinson added another major accomplishment on Tuesday.
The sophomore point guard, who led the nation in assists, was named an NJCAA First-Team All-American. It is the third straight year that a Broncbuster player earned a spot on the prestigious squad.
"Brody was arguably the best player in the conference this year," Head Coach, Rusty Elmore said. "He's a special player, and he will be a special player at whatever school he chooses next year."
The Chattanooga transfer, who was named the Jayhawk Conference newcomer of the year back in March, posted 13 double-digit assist games while averaging a team-best 20.4 points. That included a memorable 44-point show vs. Pratt, falling just shy of tying Dana Albright's program record of 45 set back in 1972. He scored 20 or more 18 times.
"There have been a lot of great players who have come through this program," Elmore added. "Brody is no exception."
Robinson set both the single season record for assists (268) and free throws made (207). He shot 44 percent from the field and connected on 84 triples. He finished first in the country in free throws made and led the conference in free throw percentage. He was second in the Jayhawk in scoring.
