By Mike Pilosof
Garden City, KS-Krishon Merriweather was a force to be reckoned with.
The sophomore linebacker recorded 20 tackles including 11 solo stops in Garden City's 42-22 victory over Dodge City in week two-earning Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the week honors.
Merriweather's defensive presence helped the Broncbusters climb out of a 15-point second quarter deficit. It was his first double-digit tackle game of his career while also tallying one sack and two tackles for loss. He's currently tops in the nation in tackles.
Garden City is back in action on Saturday, hosting Ellsworth, kickoff at 6 p.m. at Broncbuster Stadium.
