Pratt, KS-Xander Roberts struck out five, Marcelo Aguirre blasted two homers, and Pratt beat Garden City 11-2 Saturday afternoon. It was the Broncbusters fifth straight loss, dropping them to 5-22 overall and 3-8 in conference.
Taylor Dooley lost his first decision this season for Garden City, allowing seven earned runs on six hits in three innings. He struck out two, walked three, and surrendered two long home runs.
After the Broncbusters scored two runs in the top of the first, leadoff man Tyler Gates smoked a solo shot off Dooley to slice the lead in half. Garryn Plummer and Michael Acosta added sacrifice flies, and Drew Bugner doubled home a pair to give Pratt a 5-2 lead.
It was all downhill from there.
Dooley served up a two-run home to Aguirre as part of a three-run third, and then Blair left a breaking ball out over the plate in the fourth that Aguirre hammered for a two-run shot to left to make it 10-2.
