Busters Win Game I 4-2
Draper With 11 K's Picks Up 6th Win on Year
Hutchinson, KS-Garden City picked up its 36th win of the year downing Hutchinson 4-2 in Game I of the four game series. Noah Draper picks up his 7th win of the year recording 11 strikeouts to earn the win.
Draper gave up 5 hits, walked one and gave up two earned runs. Draper recorded a season best 11 strikouts picking up his sixth win of the year.
Garden City struck first in the top of the second. Leadoff batter Jesse Gonzales reached base on a walk. Conner Reynolds would follow with a two run blast over the left field wall as the Busters took a 2-0 lead.
The Busters would answer again in the top of the fourth as Sean Kennedy and Alex Nielson each singled to reach base. Aeneas Roberson followed with an RBI single to go ahead 3-0.
The Blue Dragons answered in the bottom of the fourth. A Michael Hellman home run put Hutchinson within two. Jake Bublitz doubled and Brady Hoover's RBI double scored Bublitz and the inning and scoring would end for Hutchinson as they trailed 3-2.
Garden City added an insurance run in the top of the 7th. Kyle Lopez with an off the wall double to right field paid off as Conner Reynolds answered with an RBI single that gave Garden City a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th. The Busters ended the game turning a double play giving them a pivotal win in their quest for a Jayhawk West Championship.
