Liberal, KS-The Broncbusters will want this one back.
Samantha Gomez delivered a walk-off two-run single in the seventh, and Seward County erased a three-run deficit to beat Garden City, 5-4 in game one on Wednesday afternoon.
Alexis Garcia took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in 2.2 innings of relief.
Lacey Kearsley's RBI single in the third gave Garden City a 1-0 lead. After Seward knotted things up in the third, Cadence Mallet put the Broncbusters back in front with an RBI double in the fourth. They added two more in the fifth including Keely Porter's RBI double that made it 4-1.
But the Saints slowly chipped away, scoring a run in the fifth before getting a bit of two-out magic in the seventh. A bases-loaded walk to Marisela Landa made it a one-run contest. That was followed by Gomez, who ripped an 0-1 fastball to left for a two RBI single and the game winner.
