Broncbuster rodeo shows promise at SWOSU
Weatherford, OK-The Broncbusters competed at the Southwestern Oklahoma State rodeo this past weekend. The men's team finished in 8th place, while the women's Team didn't have any Cowgirls qualify for the Short Go; although Ally Brennaman was just shy of coming back in the Goat Tying.
Saddle Bronc rider, Brady Irvine continued chipping away at the region standings by placing 6th in the Long Go of Saddle Bronc Riding, 3rd in the Short Go, and finished 3rd in the Average. Justin Wright won 8th in the Long Go of Saddle Bronc Riding, 4th in the Short Go, and finished 5th in the Average.
"We are very proud of how far Justin has come in the Bronc Riding this year," Head Coach, Jim Boy Hash said. "His mental game has improved immensely, so therefore confidence will just continue to improve. The stock contractor for the SWOSU rodeo is known for having "Rank Broncs". Several riders struggled with just completing the 8 seconds, but our guys were unfazed."
Wright also placed 9th in the Long GO of Team Roping with his brother Jacob Wright from OPSU, but they took a NO Time in the Short Go.
