Diarra named Jayhawk player of the week

Garden City, KS-The nation's top-recruit had a rather impressive week.
After averaging 25 points and 15 rebounds per game in two wins over Northwest Tech and Cowley, Mohamed Diarra was named the Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Diarra posted his 16th double-double of the season in the Broncbusters 82-74 victory over Cowley on Saturday, scoring 22 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. The sophomore also added two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. Three days earlier, Diarra scored 28 points and posted 17 rebounds in a 100-98 win over the Mavericks.
Currently, Diarra is fifth in the conference in scoring at 17.9 per game and leads the nation in rebounding (13.1).
The 16th-ranked Broncbusters are back on the road on Wednesday in Concordia to face Cloud County.
