Scales finalizes women's basketball staff; names Destiny Smith second assistant

Garden City, KS-Garden City women's basketball coach, Antwain Scales finalized his staff this week with the hiring of Destiny Smith as his second assistant coach.
"Coach Smith brings contagious determination, motivation, energy, and passion to Garden City women's basketball," Scales said.
Smith spent the past four years at Whitney High School in Whitney, TX as the girls' coordinator, helping guide her team to four consecutive playoff appearances while pumping out an 84-39 (.682) overall record.
"Coach Smith excels in fundamentals and player development in addition to her being an outstanding collegiate player," Scales added.
Pror to Whitney, Smith was an assistant at Mexia High School in Mexia, TX from 2016-18. There she tutored post players, helping the Blackcats reach a pair of regional tournaments.
"I am very excited to welcome Coach Smith to Garden City," Scales stated.
Originally from Mt. Pleasant Tx, Smith graduated High School in 2009 and went on to play at the collegiate level for Paris Junior College. During her two years at PJC, Smith became one of Paris's top players receiving 1st Team All-Conference both years, Basketball MVP, and Athlete of The Year for all sports.
