Garden City, KS-On Wednesday, Cowley proved why they are one of the premiere teams in the Jayhawk Conference.
The Tigers netted three goals in the first half and outshot Garden City, 27-8 en route to a 5-1 victory at Broncbuster Stadium. The loss dropped Garden City to 3-8 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
After playing the Tigers even for the first 30 minutes, Branko Kanacki surrendered the first goal of the match when Pedro Arcoverde converted a shot from just inside the box. Moments later, Yuki Sekiguchi made it 2-0 before Caique Trivelato fired a rocket from 20 yards out to put the visitors up 3-0 at the break.
After Garden City broke through in the 51st minute on Ricardo Checka's unassisted goal, Cowley put the match out of reach with a pair of goals within 120 seconds of each other. Flynn Faulkner snuck one past Kanacki in the 75th minute and Santiago Fernandez connected from just outside the box in the 77th.
Kanacki recorded nine saves for Garden City, which lost for the fourth time in their last five matches.
