Garden City, KS-The Broncbuster men had their chances in the final minutes on Sunday.
Christofer Gallardo-Mejia and Josef Homes each scored goals, and Southeast topped Garden City, 2-1 at Broncbuster Stadium. The loss dropped Garden City to 2-2 overall.
In a chippy affair, one that saw eight yellow cards and one red handed out, it was Southeast that got the final laugh. The Storm scored 26 minutes into the contest when Gallardo-Mejia took advantage of a goalie error to make it 1-0. Southeast added to their cushion with Holmes goal in the 57th minute.
Following Philipp Nuesse's red card in the 65th minute, Cameron O'Brien got the Broncbusters on the board with a penalty kick. But Garden City squandered scoring chances in the final minute. Nuesse swatted away shots by Cristobal Sanchez (penalty kick), and Ricardo Checka, and the Storm scored a one-goal victory.
The Broncbusters lost the match despite outshooting Southeast 20-8.
