Broncbuster Madden team comes in second for second straight year
Garden City, KS-During the day, Jaden Blansett can be seen hammering away at his keyboard, trading stocks and bonds so brilliantly that he would make the Wolf of Wall Street jealous. Okay, maybe a little bit of hyperbole, but the sophomore is quick witted enough to balance a job as a day trader, a student, and a home renovator (yeah he flips houses during his spare time). And somehow, through all of that, the Holcomb graduate makes time to play Madden, a game in which he has mastered.
"I don't think people realize how fun playing video games is," he said. "I love the atmosphere, and I love the competition."
Blansett, a die-hard San Francisco 49ers' fan, rode Jimmy Garoppolo and company all the way to the NJCAA Madden Finals, falling short to Bryant & Stratton College three games to nothing on Monday night.
"I just have to get better," Blansett added. "I didn't have my playbook for these games, but give the other guy credit, he played really well."
It's the second straight year Garden City has finished as the NJCAA National runner-up.
