Garden City, KS-When Patrick Hiltz arrived in Garden City, he promised a two-phased plan: first, to improve incoming recruits and second, to make sure they found a home once their time as a Broncbuster came to an end.
Well, mission accomplished.
Three Garden City volleyball players signed national letters of intent with four-year schools with Meoshoa Erving heading to Webber International University in Babson Park, FL, Jessica Forbes to Central College in Pella, IA, and Katarina Vojvodic to Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.
"All three weighed their options and took their time making sure they were comfortable and excited about their new start," Hiltz said. "I am extremely proud of them. They earned every bit of the opportunities they have in front of them now."
Erving signed as a multi-sport athlete with NAIA Webber International, opting to play volleyball and run track. She finished her sophomore campaign with 140 kills.
Forbes, an outside hitter, who missed eight matches during her sophomore season because of injury, still played in 27 total and recorded 106 kills including a career-high 14 vs. Lamar. The Elkhart-native, came to Garden City as a three-year starter in high school. She joins a Dutch team that finished 17-13 in 2019.
Vojvodic, who transferred in from Casper College, was arguably one of the best outside hitters in the Jayhawk Conference. Her team-best 362 kills earned her a spot on the All-League Second Team. She finished seventh in the Jayhawk and 48th in the nation in kills.
