Broncbusters qualify one more at Gorilla Classic

Pittsburg, KS-Garden City continues to rack up national qualifying times.
Mone Octave is heading to the big race in two events after a fantastic showing at the 5th annual Gorilla Glassic at Pittsburg State University.
The freshman ran a PR of 8.84 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing seventh; then followed that up with a 12th-place finish in the 60-meter dash, notching a personal-best 7.79 seconds. She finished things off in the 200-meter dash coming in at 23.59.
Sophomore, Lillie Burnett ran a career-best time in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 58.92 seconds—good for 35th. She was half a second shy of the national qualifying mark. She also finished 24th in the 60-meter dash (7.92 seconds), while teammate Destiny Huyler came in 27th in the same event at 7.93 seconds.
To date, the Broncbusters have qualified seven for nationals heading into the Region VI Championships this week.
