GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Community College women's soccer team continued its historic season with a 4–0 victory over Coffeyville Community College on Saturday afternoon at Broncbuster Stadium, setting a new program record for most wins in a single season.
Freshman Tahlia Alvey opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, finishing off a clean assist from Wilma Nyberg to put the Broncbusters up 1–0. In the second half, Garden City exploded offensively — Maddison Foster added a goal just four minutes in, followed by Aya Charaf's strike in the 68th minute off a beautiful setup from Smilla Akesson. Nyberg capped the scoring in the 83rd minute, netting her first goal of the season from an assist by Cecilia Garcia.
The Broncbusters dominated statistically, outshooting Coffeyville 27–3 and posting 11 corner kicks to the Red Ravens' one. Goalkeeper Isabelle Barsk recorded a clean sheet, stopping both shots she faced to secure the shutout.
With the win, Garden City improves to 10–5–3 overall and 5–5–2 in Jayhawk Conference play, marking the most successful season in program history.
