Garden City, KS-Fresh off their dramatic, come-from-behind, double overtime victory Saturday over rival Dodge City, it would be understandable to see an emotional letdown against Northwest Tech.
Sierra Riveria allowed no such thing to happen.
The freshman recorded her first career hat trick, while also dishing out an assist, as the Broncbusters rolled to a 7-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon.
Riveria's first goal in the 11 minute gave Garden City a 2-0 advantage. She then added two scores in less than 30 seconds in the 59th minute that made it 6-1 Broncbusters.
She also assisted on the game's first score: a beautiful pass to Susan Melian that put Garden City in front just a minute into the match. Sprinkle in goals by Kelly Rameriz, Amelia Juarez and Ruth Estrada, and the Broncbusters won a season-high third straight match.
Garden City improved to 5-4-1 on the season, while Northwest Tech dropped to 0-6-1.
