Busters Atop The KJCCC With 71-58 Win Over Trojans
Colby, KS-Nick Salazar's Lady Busters are now 20-7 overall and 14-2 in KJCCC Play with a 71-58 win over Colby. Saturday's win placed Garden City in first place in the DI Women's KJCCC Standings with three games left to play. The Busters control their own destiny by going 2-1 in the next 8 days.
On Wednesday February, 17th Seward comes to Garden City. Seward County defeated Hutchinson last week handing them their second loss of the season. Saturday night Cloud County earned a monumental win over the Blue Dragons at Hutchinson. The T-Birds defeated Hutchinson 67-57.
Garden City defeated Cloud County 64-59 in Garden City and won on the road at Seward County 77-66 in January. The Busters will play Cloud County on Saturday February 20th. Hutchinson comes to town on Monday February, 22nd. Garden City suffered their second loss of the season in KJCCC play on February 1st with a 77-70 loss to the Blue Dragons at Hutchinson.
In Saturday's game against Colby (0-16, 4-23) Nick Salazar picked up his 20th win of the season. Donasja Scott led Garden City with 18pts and Kavita Akula Scored 17. Jaymie Bernbeck added 14pts and Shala Dobbins knocked in 12. Hannah Herman led Colby with 10.
Tipoff Wednesday against Seward County is at 5:30pm.
