Dobbins Bucket Wins Game
Lady Busters 12-2 in League
Garden City, KS-Barton County gave Garden City a run for their money but in the end a Shala Dobbins basket secured a 60-58 win. With time running down Dobbins' teammates cleared the floor and Dobbins did what she does best; put the ball in the basket to secure Garden City's 12th win in league.
Dobbins and her teammates celebrated the win that looked to be earned much easier after a 20-7 first quarter score. The Cougars would pull within three at halftime trailing 29-26. Garden City won the third quarter 18-15 and lost the fourth quarter 17-3.
Dobbins led all scorers with 20 points and Kavita Akula dumped in 12. Jenna Clasen tallied 9pts and Jaymie Bernbeck, DaRae Lewis and Donasja Scott combined for 18pts with six each.
The Cougars were led by Dominique Baker and Kilee Harris with 16 points each. Jalisa Jones finished with 11. The Cougars fall to 4-10 in league and 12-13 overall.
The Busters are in second place in the KJCCC standings and are 18-7 overall. The Busters host Dodge City Community College Wednesday February, 10th. Tipoff is at 5:30pm.
