Garden City, KS-Garden City has been resilient all season. They showed as much in game two on Wednesday.
Brittany Dowell crushed a two-run, go-ahead homer in the bottom of the sixth, Madison Biller struck out five, and the Broncbusters overcame a 3-0 deficit to beat Seward County 4-3 at Tangeman Sports Complex.
The Saints started building their lead early. Emily Mojica's RBI single in the first put Seward County up 1-0. In the second, Miranda Nester smashed a run-scoring double to the gap in right-center before Devin Hernandez's error allowed another run to score in the fourth to make it 3-0.
But Garden City started their comeback in the fifth. Hernandez atoned for her miscue with a one-out RBI single to get the Broncbusters on the board. Then in the sixth, Gaby Hernandez got a run home on an RBI groundout, and Dowell crushed Alyssah Pantoja's fastball over the wall in left for a 4-3 advantage.
Biller did the rest in the circle retiring the Saints in order in the seventh. She improved to 5-7. Audrey Graf finished 3-for-3 at the plate.
