Borger, TX-You get the sense that the Broncbuster softball team played with a bit of a chip on their shoulder on Tuesday.
Ariel Denney collected three hits and drove in four, Madison Biller allowed just two runs, and Garden City demolished Frank Phillips 15-2.
The Broncbusters got the scoring started in the second when Madison Brasher hit an RBI single, and Denney smashed a two-run double to make it 3-0. In the third, Brittany Dowell and Brasher both singled home runs, and Biller knocked in two with a single to right, putting the Broncbusters up 7-0.
After Frank Phillips scored a run in the third, Garden City answered again in the fourth. Dowell ripped an RBI double to the gap, and Devin Hernandez grounded into an RBI fielder's choice.
The Broncbusters polished off the run-rule victory in the sixth, scoring on an error and then a single by Denney before Gaby Hernandez smoked a two-run triple to left. Kaylee Rogers capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.
Denney, Hernandez, Audrey Graf, Dowell and Brasher all recorded multi-hit games, while Biller gave up seven hits and struck out four in six innings.
