Manhattan, KS-The Broncbusters finished third at the Kansas State Rodeo while the women did not place.
Garden City came in behind Oklahoma Panhandle State and Fort Hays State.
Tucker McClain and Gunnar Stapleton led the way for the Men's Team by winning both Go Rounds and the average title in the Team Roping. They scored a 5.0 to win the Long Go; the second-place team in the long go was a 5.6 second run.
McClain and Stapelton had a 6.6 second run in the short go. The second-place team in the short go was an 11.4 second run.
"This was a classic scenario as to what I always try to convey to our team ropers in the fact that the hard part is making the short go, after that, just go make another run, don't stub your toe," Head Coach Jim Boy Hash said. "Let everyone else make the mistakes, then you will come out at the top a good percentage of the time."
Brett Blackwood and Jake Anderson also made the short go in team roping by splitting third and fourth hole in the long go with a 6.4 second run. Unfortunately their steer didn't cooperate with them in the short go by not leaving the chute as fast as the majority of the cattle, so they were a 9.7 plus a 10-second penalty for breaking the barrier to finish in sixth in the short go and sixth in the average.
Coy Christian finished fifth in the first go round of Bareback Riding, and fifth in the second go to finish fourth in the Average.
Ean Price was seventh in the Long go of Saddle Bronc Riding, bucked off in the short go, and finished eighth in the average.
